The Textile Museum has set itself the task of informing the public on fibres, fabrics and clothing, and of giving children and youngsters access to this theme in a way appropriate to their age. Creative processes, production techniques and materials are covered, as are issues relating to globalisation, production and labour conditions, sustainability and consumption. Of course, the history of textiles in Eastern Switzerland is an important theme in terms of cultural education in the Textile Museum. Our offerings include exhibition, tours and workshops, with the emphasis on doing.&nbsp; Entrance to the museum is free of charge for schoolchildren up to the age of 18.<\/p>\n<h2>Tours<\/h2>\n<p>Based on their specific world of life and experience, we organise dialogue-oriented exhibition tours for children and young people.<\/p>\n<p>For an approx. hour-long event during regular opening hours, we charge a fee of CHF 70 per guided tour, plus entrance fees<br \/>\n(CHF 5 per person).<\/p>\n<p>Public schools, kindergartens and daycare centres in the city of St. Gallen are exempt from this charge. They can take advantage of guided tours and admission to the museum free of charge.<\/p>\n<h2>Workshops<\/h2>\n<p>Our workshops provide an action-orientated approach to textile issues. They offer pupils the opportunity to explore a topic in depth and become active themselves. Detailed information on our programme can be found here.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the prices listed for the workshops, an admission fee of CHF 5 per person will be charged.<\/p>\n<p>Public schools from the city and canton of St.Gallen and the canton of Appenzell Ausserhoden are exempt from this charge.<\/p>\n<h2>Textile and Design Laboratory<\/h2>\n<p>For some years the Textile Museum has taken part in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stadt.sg.ch\/home\/schule-bildung\/ferienplan-ferienangebote\/freiwillige-handarbeit.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Art &amp; Handiwork<\/a>, an extra-curricular activity provided by the city of St. Gallen.
