The Textile Museum lies in a zone with reduced traffic very close to the historical city centre and the Abbey district. Just a few minutes’ walk from the station, it is easily reached on foot or by rail and bus.
When travelling by car, it is recommended to find a car park in the city centre. Up-to-date information on parking facilities can be found here.
Unfortunately, the historical museum built in 1886 is barrier-free only to a limited extent. However, it is very important to us to make the visit to an exhibition as comfortable as possible for people with special needs. Please contact our visitor service prior to your visit. Detailed information concerning our facilities can be found at Procap-Zugangsmonitor. You will find parking facilities in the courtyard of the textile museum.
Come and visit the Textile Museum with a private tour! These are on offer in German, English and French, and can be arranged outside of regular opening hours, too. The size of the group is limited to 25 persons, though several tours can take place simultaneously.
A one-hour tour on work-days between 10 am and 5 pm costs 120 CHF. For tours on Sundays and public holidays, as well as tours between 5 pm and 7 pm, an additional fee of 30 CHF per tour is charged. Evening tours which end around or after 7.30 pm cost 200 CHF. Prices do not include admission to the museum, which is charged per participant. Private guided tours are possible by appointment only.
The visitor service is available Monday to Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.
